Megan Elliott-Smith Rainwater
Operations Manager

I was that student that didn’t know what they wanted to do when they came to college, even after I graduated. I found through my first professional job that I really enjoyed business operations and the challenges it brings. I was a one-woman team at my previous job and was looking for more structure and more mentorship in operations to further my career which is why I came to LSU. I’ve gained so much more through managing our student employees which is what keeps me in higher education. I’ve been able to watch our students grow from their freshman year to graduation and go on to do amazing things.

My Ready to Roar advice
LSU is a large campus and it is important to make connections and build your network. Go to your professors office hours, join clubs, sign up for academic competitions, connect with professional staff members at your job. There are countless ways to grow your network at LSU but you need to make an effort to build those connections.
My favorite campus spot
I have always loved the sculpture garden. I like that there are the constants – the sculptures that remain unchanged over the years – but then there are always new ones coming in.
A perfect day would be
My husband and I driving down River Road. We like to get out at different pull-offs and go up on the levee and just relax.
